Join the FIU Jain Studies Program as we honor our top graduate and undergraduate students, and recognize the program’s visiting scholar for outstanding service. This year’s ceremony features a keynote address by esteemed scholar Prof. Shalin Jain from the University of Delhi. His presentation explores Jain literature from the early modern period of South Asia and how it contributed to the evolution of Jain identity. Prof. Jain will discuss how the Jains were able to compete for space with other religious and ethnic communities in the diverse ideological spectrum characterizing early modern society of South Asia. The Sapan and Gitika Bafna Family Endowment Award is awarded each year to the top undergraduate and graduate research paper in Jain Studies at Florida International University. The Rajiv and Latika Jain Graduate Fellowship Endowment Award is awarded each year to the top FIU Jain Studies applicant to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Religious Studies with a concentration in Jainism.
